OUIJA Capture the Flag

Six trials are buried in this house. The living hid them badly. Rest your hands on the planchette, ask a careful question, and something on the other side will spell the answer out — one letter at a time.

The house on Blackmoor Row

Three ways the dead will speak to you

Every flag in this game reached the other side by a different road. Learn the roads and the board becomes a map.

Knocks

One knock for yes, two for no. The simplest channel, and the easiest to fake — which is exactly why the first trials hide there. Count carefully; a third knock means something else is in the room.

Spelling

The planchette drags across the board and the flag arrives letter by letter, out of order, missing its vowels. Reassembly is your problem. The dead are not proofreaders.

Apports

Objects that arrive from nowhere: a photograph, a wax cylinder, a file with the wrong extension. Everything the house hands you is evidence, and some of it is bait.

Six trials

What waits beyond the veil

Twenty-four flags across six disciplines. Points rise as the room gets colder.

I 4 flags

The Whispering Wall

Web exploitation. The house has a servant's entrance and nobody remembered to lock it.

Web100–400 pts
II 4 flags

Cipher of the Silent Choir

Cryptography. Thirteen nuns took a vow. Their letters still arrive, and still refuse to be read.

Crypto150–500 pts
III 4 flags

Photographs of the Deceased

Forensics. Every plate in the album has something behind the emulsion. Look with the right eyes.

Forensics100–450 pts
IV 4 flags

The Planchette's Grain

Reverse engineering. Someone carved instructions into the wood. Follow them backwards.

Reversing200–600 pts
V 4 flags

Ectoplasm

Binary exploitation. Something is leaking out of the medium, and it is writing past the end of her.

Pwn250–700 pts
VI 4 flags

Do Not Say Its Name

Miscellaneous & OSINT. The last trial has no category, no hints, and no record of who set it.

Rules of the table

Seven courtesies
for the dead

Break them and the board goes quiet. Quiet boards score nothing.

Agree and be seated
  1. 01

Never sit alone. Circles of two to five mediums; one account each.

  2. 02

Keep your fingers on the planchette. No automated scrapers, no flooding the scoreboard.

  3. 03

Do not pass a flag to another circle. The dead notice, and so do we.

  4. 04

Attack only what the house offers you. Infrastructure is out of bounds.

  5. 05

Flags take the form ouija{...}. Anything else is a hoax.

  6. 06

Ask the house for hints if you must. Each one costs you points.

  7. 07

When you leave, always say good bye. Boards left open stay open.

Who the dead favour

  1. No circle has scored yet. The board is cold.

Something already answered.

It spelled a name, and the name was yours. Come and see what else it knows.
